The European Commission Representation in Ireland, supported by European Movement Ireland, is running a in-person media workshop in the new Europe House on Friday 22 November 2024 from 10:00am-12:00pm for third-level students who are interested in applying for the 2025 Student Media Awards (SMEDIAs) in the category for Journalism on European Union issues, sponsored by the European Commission. 

The European Commission Award celebrates top student journalism on EU affairs with a €1,000 cash prize and a regional or online publication for the winner.

This year’s guest speakers are:

Eileen Dunne, Former Journalist and Broadcaster with RTÉ
Stephanie Costello, Dublin Inquirer and Lecturer at TUD
Joshua McCormack, Winner of the 2024 European Commission SMEDIAs Award
