Dr. Phil Cummins: Availability (within the PI Lab) of an in vitro blood-brain barrier (BBB) model for pre-clinical assessment of food/drug compounds
Dr. Michael Freeley led a collaborative project with an international life sciences company where he performed the first RNAi library screens in primary human T-cells using their proprietary self-delivering RNAi technology (Freeley et al. 2015, J. Biomolecular Screening). He has also carried out contract research for a pharmaceutical company to screen small molecule drugs to evaluate their anti-inflammatory potential in in-vitro T-cell assays.

Prof. Paul Cahill: Vascular Biology, Stem Cell Biology, MechanoBiology, Cytomechanics, Pharmacology, Cardiovascular Disease. Prof. Cahill has been a consultant for Medtronic AVE, Bayer AG, IDA and SFI.
Dr. Greg Foley: Engineering design and analysis of membrane filtration systems, General mathematical modelling of processes.
Dr. Jenny Lawler: Specification of membrane based solutions for water and wastewater treatment, development of tailored novel membranes for protein separation or environmental application.
Dr. Anne Parle-McDermott: Folic acid nutrition, Functional Genetics, PCR based assays.
Dr. Dermot Walls: Biological analysis of virus-host interactions, detection of pathogens, cell and molecular responses to products in vitro. Brochure link.
Prof. Richard O’Kennedy: Antibody and Immunosensor development. Training in antibody technologies, Protein Expression and Purification, Assay development

Prof. Christine Loscher has significant partnerships with Irish biotech companies and Global food companies in the area of immunomodulation for health benefit.
Dr. Jenny Lawler: has partnered with companies including Alltech and Oxymem in the development of waste and water management soloutions.
Dr. Dermot Walls has worked with GlaxoSmithKline Plc., Proctor and Gamble, Enfer Group and Alltech (Ireland) on a variety of projects. He is a judge at the BT Young Scientist and Technology competition.
