Latest update to Dictionary of Irish Biography

The most recent update of the Dictionary of Irish Biography has seen the addition of twenty-seven new lives.

Amongst these most recent additions to the DIB were the politician and government minister, Dick Burke, the first female mayor of Derry, Marlene Jefferson the Roman Catholic archbishop of Dublin, Desmond Connell, and the archivist and historian, Margaret Griffith.

The update also includes three significant revisions, reflecting significant new scholarship in the cases of Mary Ward, philanthropist and author, Hariot Blackwood or Lady Dufferin (d.1936), and Emily Anderson, academic and code breaker.
