About DCU Biography & Life Writing Research
Our multidisciplinary group brings together researchers from the School of History of Geography at Dublin City University, as well as the School of Communications, the School of Law and Government, SALIS, and the School of Theology, Philosophy and Music.
Within these subjects which our group draws from, there are academics who write biography or biographical studies (both individual and collective) of historical, political, cultural and theological figures, and researchers working on large-scale biographical projects.
Elsewhere, our researchers look at life-writing in a wide array of manifestations, including memoir, autobiography, diaries, letters, essays, travel writing, legal testimonies, pensionapplications, blogs, and various forms of fiction.
Finally, our Research Group embraces those who produce life-writing or autobiography, or support the production of life-writing by others, both as a creative outlet and as a form of social and political communication.
Together, we aim to foster individual and collaborative research by building national and international networks and releasing the potential that comes from such collective activity.
