DCU Artwork Raffle for Barretstown Children’s Charity February 2021

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The Promoter:

The permit to hold this lottery is held by Mary Colgan, President’s Office, DCU, Glasnevin, Dublin 9 and is being promoted and conducted for the benefit of Barretstown Children’s Charity, Barretstown Castle, Ballymore Eustace, Co Kildare W91RDX6 (CHY 10715), as granted by Superintendent Brian Daly of Ballymun Garda Station on 27 January 2021.

By entering this Raffle all entrants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions and any other conditions in the messaging or promotions of this. Any entries not complying with these terms and conditions will not be valid. The terms and conditions herein are governed by Irish Law and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish Courts.

The Prizes:

  • 2 artworks kindly donated by DCU’s artist in residence Joana Hopkins. The artworks are:
    • Headless 1 - Based on a West of Ireland tradition called the Straw Boys, emerged with the natural form of the female body. Medium: Watercolour, pencil and collage on paper. Size: 35cm x 29cm. Framed.
    • Headless 2 - Based on the body and natural world. Medium: Watercolour, pencil and collage on Paper. Size: 35cm x 29cm. Framed.

 

How to Enter:

  • The raffle will run from 3pm on Wednesday 3rd February 2021 to 12noon on Friday 12th February (Closing Date) inclusive.
  • All raffle entries must be received by the Promoter no later than 12noon on the Closing Date.
  • To enter the raffle:
    • Purchase an online raffle ticket at the price of €10 per ticket from the promoter at https://www.dcu.ie/barretstown/artwork-raffle-barretstown-childrens-charity
    • Online raffle tickets purchases will be processed via the secure DCU Online Payment Portal, courtesy of DCU Finance Office.
    • Select 'Barretstown' in the Payment Category box.
    • In the Payment Item section, select 'Barretstown Art Raffle Feb 2021'.
    • The amount to be paid into the raffle is entered in the Amount to Pay section.
    • Follow the remaining steps to complete raffle ticket purchase.
    • Upon completion a receipt will be issued via nominated email address showing the total amount entered.
    • On purchase of an online ticket for the raffle draw, all purchasers of tickets are automatically entered.

Eligibility:

  • The draw is open to all persons aged 18 or over as at the date of the draw.
  • There is no limit to the number of raffle tickets a person can purchase.
  • The promoter reserves the right to reject any entry (and award the prize to an alternative winner) if it has grounds to believe the entrant has breached any of these terms and conditions, acted fraudulently or illegally, or on other reasonable grounds and shall have no liability to an entrant for any loss or damage arising from such rejection
  • The Promoter respects, and is committed to protecting your privacy. The personal information you provide will remain private and will only be used for the sole purpose of this raffle.
  • By entering the raffle with your contact details on the payment platform you are consenting to the processing of your personal data by DCU for the purpose of the DCU Barretstown February 2021 Artwork raffle only. For further information on how your personal data will be used please click here.
  • The promoter reserves the right to cancel, amend, terminate or temporarily suspend this raffle at any time with no liability to any entrant or any third party. If due to unavailability of a particular prize, beyond the promoter’s control, the promoter and sponsor reserves the right to substitute a particular prize for another prize of similar value.

 

Winner Selection:

  • The drawing of the prizes will be held at: President's Office, DCU, Glasnevin, Dublin 9 on Monday 15th February 2021
  • The first person to be selected in the raffle gets to choose the artwork preferred.
  • The winners will be required to provide proof of identity when collecting their prize. Acceptable forms of identification include:
    • A valid passport
    • A current Irish driving licence
    • A National Age Card (issued by An Garda Síochána)
    • An identification form with a photograph signed by a member of An Garda Síochána
    • DCU Student card
    • DCU Staff card

Proof of address

  • A current utility bill (such as a gas, electricity or telephone or mobile phone bill)
  • A current car or home insurance policy that shows your address
  • A document issued by a government department that shows your address
  • A copy of your Tax Credit Certificate (TCC)
  • A Statement of Liability (previously P21) from Revenue
  • A social insurance document (that shows your address)
  • A letter from your employer or licensed employment agency stating that you have recently arrived in Ireland and have started work but cannot yet provide evidence of your Irish address.

Not acceptable forms of identity include: Mobile phone bill, Utility bill more than 6 months old.

  • The prizes are non-transferable and only consist of what is listed above.
  • Winners will be chosen by random number generator in the following order: first ticket drawn wins a choice of either the Headless 1 or Headless 2 artworks, second ticket drawn wins the artwork not selected by the first ticket winner.
  • The winners will be notified within 5 working days of the closing date either by email or telephone.
  • In the event that we cannot contact any of the winners within 28 calendar days after the draw, another name will be drawn and a new prize-winner will be declared.
  • The winner’s name and address will be announced on the DCU Barretstown website, www.dcu.ie/barretstown.
  • By entering the raffle the entrant may be invited to take part in any publicity relating to the raffle draw. All winners names will be announced and available on the results section of the terms once the draw has taken place. Each entrant has the right to refuse to take part in publicity.
  • The promoter’s decision is final and no further correspondence will be entered into.
  • The Promoter accepts no responsibility or liability to the winner for any dissatisfaction with the prize.
  • No alternative prize will be offered. The prizes are not redeemable for cash. The winners will be required to provide proof of identity when collecting their prize.

 

 

Limitation of Liability:

  • If for any reason any aspect of the Raffle Draw does not function correctly, whether by means of infection by computer virus, network failure, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any cause beyond the control of the promoter that corrupts or affects the administration, integrity or fairness of the Raffle draw then the promoter may at its sole discretion cancel, modify or suspend the promotion and/or invalidate affected entries.
  • Entry for the artwork raffle is via the DCU online Payment Portal only. All other donations to Barretstown must be made through our normal channel via JustGiving link HERE.
