DCU Barretstown Bake Off - Help us raise some dough!
DCU students and staff can help raise some dough for Barretstown with the Great DCU Bake Off event.
Savoury and sweet entries are welcome - and a special judging panel will announce the winner!
The Bake Off will be taking place across St Patrick’s and Glasnevin campuses on Wednesday, May 18th, and Thursday, May 19th, respectively.
The event is open to individuals and teams, and they can come up with their own theme for their entry.
A registration fee will apply - €5 for individuals, and €20 for teams. All funds raised will go to Barretstown.
Each entry will be photographed and judged by an expert panel. The names of the judging panel and event host will be announced in the days prior to the event.
Members of staff and students are welcome to view the entries and sample the goods, as well as support their baker colleagues from 10.30am onwards. Members of the DCU Barretstown committee will have a bucket collection on the day - but for anyone who wishes to make donations, the can click here
There will be three star bakers on each campus - and each will receive a coveted ‘DCU Star Baker’ apron.

Event organiser Olivia McGinn said all bakers are welcome regardless of experience.
‘We know there are lots of secret star bakers in DCU - so we’re calling on them to show off their talents and get baking for Barretstown.
We think everyone has a showstopper in them - this event is fun, so all efforts are appreciated.
Bakers will make their entry at home and bring to DCU the following morning. Setup will commence at 9.30am and the event will open at 10.30am for judging and photography.
DCU staff and students who haven’t entered are more than welcome to attend and show their support - and sample the efforts once the judging has taken place. Members of DCU Barretstown committee will also be there shaking some buckets to raise funds for Barretstown,’ Olivia said.
The DCU Bake Off is the latest event from the DCU Barretstown Committee.
