A Special Celebration: Class of 1964 Marks 60th Anniversary Reunion

This August, the DCU Alumni Office had the privilege of hosting a special event — the 60th Anniversary Reunion of the Class of 1964. It was a truly remarkable gathering that honoured a class whose bonds have only strengthened with time. Alumni returned to the St Patrick’s campus to reconnect, share memories, and celebrate six decades of friendship and achievements.

"It was an absolute honour to celebrate the 60th anniversary reunion of the Class of 1964. This event not only highlighted the enduring friendships formed while studying on St Patrick’s Campus but also the deep connection our alumni continue to have with the university. We were especially proud to hear that some attendees have already applied to mentor second-year students as part of the DCU Career Mentoring Programme for the upcoming year. The commitment of the Class of 1964 is inspiring, and we look forward to supporting many more class gatherings in the years ahead. Congratulations to the St Patrick’s Class of 1964!" Special thanks go to Diarmaid O'Murchu and the reunion committee, made up of dedicated members of the Class of 1964, worked tirelessly to ensure this milestone was celebrated in style. Remembering their classmates with a reunion mass celebrated by Rev Pat O’Donoghue. Thanks to their hard work and enthusiasm, the event saw a wonderful turnout, with many alumni travelling from near and far to be part of the special day.

The reunion celebration was filled with laughter, nostalgia, and the joy of reuniting again. Attendees reminisced about their time on campus, sharing stories from their student days and reflecting on the incredible journeys they've taken since. The event featured speeches from former classmates, highlighted their shared history and accomplishments that have made this class so special.
