About the Awards

The DCU Alumni Awards honour alumni who, through their exceptional ability and leadership, have achieved excellence in their chosen fields of endeavour. Their accomplishments across so many aspects of society are a source of great pride to DCU and an inspiration to present and future generations of DCU students.

Universities choose their Mission Statements very carefully. At DCU we are dedicated to 'Transforming Lives and Society'. Each year the Alumni Awards provide us with an opportunity to honour our extraordinary graduates who have done that through their profession and passion. In honouring them we renew the commitment to our great mission, and we celebrate our graduates as an inspiration to students, staff, and supporters.

The Alumni Awards is an opportunity to celebrate those who achieve much, at home and abroad, and bring the ever-growing DCU family together in recognition of our common bond, our Alma Mater.

What is the Nomination Process?

You're welcome to submit your nomination for the 2024 Alumni Awards now. Please submit your nomination here. 

2024 nominations close at the end of October 2024.

All nominations will be shared with the Faculties, President's Office and the Alumni Office for consideration.

Awardees will be selected, representing all five Faculties of the university.

The awardees achievements will be displayed on the Alumni Wall on the Glasnevin and St Patrick's campuses to provide inspiration for our students and wider community.

Who should I nominate?

DCU's mission is to Transform Lives and Societies through education, research, innovation and engagement.

We want to celebrate graduates who have lived our mission and who have positively impacted our communities at home and abroad. Through their achievements, innovation and commitment, the world has become a better place to live.

In previous years, we have celebrated graduates for their accomplishments in Civic Engagement, Communication, Equality Diversity and Inclusion, Innovation and Technology, Leadership, Societal Impact, Sport and much more.

Our Alumni Award recipients are role models for our current students, their fellow graduates and the entire DCU community.
