Emerging Leaders Programme DCU

Emerging Leaders 2024-2025 Opening Ceremony

DCU’s now award-winning Emerging Leaders Programme welcomed its fifth cohort of future industry leaders to an opening ceremony in Accenture in the Docks.

The group of 22 DCU Alumni from all 5 faculties, spanning from a variety of industries and career journeys will participate in a variety of leadership discussions, insights workshops, and international case studies between September and March both in person and virtually.

The opening ceremony was hosted by Alumni Council member Brian Smyth (2006, Business Studies) at Accenture in the docks. The 22 Emerging Leaders got to know each other in a session of human bingo, enjoyed a a leadership discussion panel with Paula Neary (1995, Electronic Engineering) Senior Managing Director at Accenture, Sean O’Sullivan Vice President at Intel, and DCU President Prof Dáire Keogh. Participants also learned from leading thought leaders in Accenture about the uses of AI and transformative technology.

The participants were gifted DCU Jackets before moving to the nearby Brewdog to continue the evening.

Throughout the year, the participants will learn more about the ethics of leadership, how different leadership styles can inform how they interact with others at work, and the differences of thought spanning across the world with our partners at PNU and ASU - explain the acronyms.

Our thanks again to Brian and all at Accenture for hosting the inaugural event for the 2024 programme and all our partners, Alumni Council members who continue to support the programme and help it to achieve such success. our Emerging Leaders each year.
