Alumni Christmas Dinner
The festive season may be behind us, but we’re still basking in the yuletide glow of our successful Alumni Christmas dinner event held on Thursday 7th December.
The inaugural festive celebration, an opportunity for alumni to bring together friends and classmates to enjoy a three course dinner, music and carols, helped to properly kick off the Christmas season.
Held in the prestigious President’s Lounge in the Glasnevin campus 1838 Restaurant, guests were welcomed with a glass of mulled wine and a chance to mingle with each other against the backdrop of Christmas carols and a (virtual) roaring fire.
Before sitting for lunch, the fabulous St Patrick’s Class of 1973 Choir, who reunited to celebrate their 50th anniversary alumni reunion earlier in the year on the St Patrick’s Campus, started the afternoon with the first selections from their programme of festive carols, songs and recitals. Guests were welcomed by Mary Larkin from the DCU Alumni Relations office. DCU President Prof Dáire Keogh gave a short address highlighting University developments and some of the key updates from the Alumni Relations team over the previous twelve busy months.
During a sumptuous three-course-dinner, guests were entertained by the Choir who sang in front of the impressive backdrop of the large, beautifully decorated Christmas tree which became a popular spot for group shots and selfies during the afternoon.
It was a wonderful occasion, a magical way to bring together alumni for one last event before the end of the year, and we’d like to thank all the alumni and other guests who attended and helped make it such a success, the 1973 Choir for their beautiful music which added so much atmosphere and to President Keogh for welcoming our guests.
As well as some lovely comments about the dinner, we’ve already had alumni asking about this year’s event. To ensure you don’t miss out, please ensure we have you most up to date contact details using our Keep in Touch page.
We look forward to seeing you and your classmates at next year’s Alumni Christmas Dinner in December 2024! See you at Christmas 2024!
