Deadline for DCU degree-holders to register for Seanad vote
As you may know, DCU degree-holders will soon be able to vote in elections for Seanad Éireann in the new Higher Education constituency. This has been introduced under legislation which broadens the electorate for Seanad University seats to include graduates of designated universities including DCU.
To have your say in the election of Senators in this constituency, you must first register via the online portal Seanadvoter.ie or by submitting a paper form. The application process is straightforward but the deadline for registration (January 23) is approaching fast, so please don’t delay.

Key Facts about Seanad Voter Registration for DCU degree-holders
Eligibility: If you hold a degree (bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral) from a designated institution in Ireland, are an Irish citizen, and are aged 18 or over, you are eligible to register for the Higher Education constituency.
Deadline: The registration process for the first-ever Higher Education constituency closes on January 23, 2025.
How to Apply: You can register online at Seanadvoter.ie or by submitting a paper form. Supporting documentation such as your degree qualification, student number, and the relevant institution’s confirmation will be required for verification.
Register: The first register will be published on April 1, 2025, and will remain in force until June 2026.
