Orla Wilson is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Materials Science and Engineering Department at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.  She joined JHU in 2008 as a Lecturer and has progressed through the teaching track ranks since then.  Orla received her BS in Analytical Science in 1993 and her MS in Organic Chemistry in 1998, both from DCU (it was NIHE when she first started!).  Orla worked on  a collaborative project with the Australian National Lab, CSIRO, and the University of Melbourne for close to 4 years (1998-2002) before completing her PhD in Materials Chemistry at Texas A&M University in 2005.  In addition to her teaching role at JHU, she serves as the Faculty Lead in the Engineering School for Assessment and Accreditation and is a Program Evaluator for ABET.

 

Ms. Maraya Lasinsky currently serves as the Chief Advisor at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Blue Campaign in Washington, D.C. Maraya brings 17 years of experience working and volunteering in the human trafficking awareness field. At the Blue Campaign, Maraya supports the program’s protection efforts, working with federal, state, and local law enforcement, as well as with first responders, to help them better recognize and respond to human trafficking victims. Her responsibilities include supporting and educating law enforcement through Blue Campaign’s unique and tailored human trafficking training courses that emphasize the use of a victim-centered approach. Prior to joining Blue Campaign, Ms. Lasinsky spent 10 years at U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Maraya holds a B.A. in Business/Communications from Carlow University in Pittsburgh, PA and a M.A. in Intercultural Studies from Dublin City University in Ireland.

 

Tony Flynn is the Assistant Vice President of Network Operations at Amtrak's headquarters in Washington, D.C. Tony has been with Amtrak for 23 years after starting his career in Aer Lingus I.T. as a reservations system programmer, with stints in London, Taipei and Zurich working for British Airways, IBM, and Swissair. Tony currently works in Amtrak's Operations group, providing internal support services to frontline departments, from optimization, simulation and advanced analytic tools to business process reengineering. Tony originally studied Computer Science in Dublin City University, and more recently graduated in 2020 with a B.A. in Psychology from DCU.
