DCU Alumni Awardee Daniel Davern
Dan Davern is the CEO of DX2 Training Solutions, one of Ireland’s leading providers of education and training in health, safety, and pre-hospital care and is a dynamic entrepreneur with a proven track record of innovation, leadership, and business growth.
After university Dan began his career in a fire and rescue service before founding DX2 in 2010.
Under his leadership, DX2 has grown significantly, with offices in Dublin and Waterford and a team of over 30 professionals. In 2014, Dan was named Best Young Entrepreneur for Fingal. More recently, in 2024, DX2 was nominated for a Diversity, Equity & Inclusion award, an area Dan is passionate about. He actively champions inclusive education and works to remove barriers to learning.
Dan is a Registered Advanced Paramedic with a Graduate Diploma and MSc in Emergency Medical Science from University College Dublin. He sits on the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council’s Education and Training Committee and has served on the NAEMT European Education Committee and as the College of Paramedics UK Liaison in Ireland. He volunteers as an assessor for Rescue Organisation Ireland and sits on Bristow Ireland Medical Steering Group advising on search and rescue medical services. Dan has also published chapters in several medical textbooks.
A dedicated community leader, Dan served as Adult Games Chairperson at Fingallians GAA Club and now coaches the U8 girls’ team, where his daughter plays.
