Raising Intergenerational Awareness with Ms. Alison Bough

Yesterday, March 25th, we were delighted to welcome Ms. Alison Bough, Irish Representative for AGE Platform Europe, to DCU for an insightful discussion on Raising Intergenerational Awareness.

Alison’s presentation highlighted the importance of intergenerational connections in building cohesive, age-inclusive societies. She shared best practices for fostering dialogue across generations, tackling social isolation, and strengthening community bonds.

She also touched on the European Commission’s commitment to intergenerational solidarity, including the 2020 Green Paper on Ageing and the proposal for a Commissioner for Intergenerational Fairness—key steps toward ensuring policy decisions reflect the needs of all generations.
