DCU AFU at the Launch of the European Commission’s Intergenerational Fairness Strategy
On March 3, Dr. Christine O’Kelly, DCU AFU Coordinator, took part in the launch of the European Commission’s Intergenerational Fairness Strategy, alongside Alison Bough from AGE (Active Retirement Ireland).
The event, hosted by the European Commission and the Policy Lab team of the Joint Research Centre, was co-developed with Commissioner Glenn Micallef’s cabinet team and the Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport, and Culture (DG EAC).
"I really enjoyed taking part in the launch of the European Commission’s Intergenerational Fairness Strategy today, along with my colleague Alison Bough (Active Retirement Ireland). It is great to see such a strong commitment to intergenerational fairness, ensuring that policies reflect the needs of all age groups. Supporting present and future generations is key to fostering a more inclusive and sustainable society. Some interesting conversations on intergenerational policy, equity, potential and more. Looking forward to seeing how this strategy develops!" Said Dr. Christine O'Kelly.
DCU AFU remains committed to promoting intergenerational engagement and advocating for policies that create a fair and inclusive society for all.
Stay tuned for further updates on this important initiative!
