Cicerone Initiative: Celebrating Ireland’s Artistic Heritage

This week, it was Ireland's turn in the Cicerone Initiative, and it was a huge success! Today’s session celebrated the country’s remarkable artistic traditions and creative legacy.

A huge thank you to Professor Caoimhe Fitzsimons for her engaging and insightful presentation on the work of renowned Irish artist Seán Hillen. Her passion and expertise brought Ireland’s unique creative traditions to life for all participants.

We’d also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the professors and participants from the other countries for their thoughtful questions, insightful reflections, and wonderful engagement. You made today’s session a true success with your support, curiosity, and enthusiasm!

A few words from Irish student David O’Brien: "I found the classes very interesting, as they introduced me to artists from different countries, including ones I had never heard of before. I particularly enjoyed learning more about well-known artists, such as Picasso from Spain, and then discovering something entirely new in the next class, like the presentation on Giovanni da Udine from Italy, which I hadn’t heard of before.”

Stay tuned as we continue this cultural journey with more countries sharing their artistic heritage in the coming weeks!
