DCU AFU Brings Age-Friendly Insights to Mary Immaculate College

On February 14th, The Age-Friendly University (AFU) Coordinator was delighted to deliver a presentation at Mary Immaculate College in Limerick, offering colleagues an in-depth review of the Ten Principles of an Age-Friendly University and the broader Age-Friendly University Global Network. The session highlighted theAFUGNs core principles—such as promoting inclusivity, enhancing lifelong learning opportunities, and fostering intergenerational engagement across campus. Colleagues were also introduced to a range of practical strategies and initiatives that can be adopted to create a more supportive environment for learners of all ages. Through lively discussion and knowledge sharing, the presentation underscored how age-friendly practices can enrich the student experience, benefit faculty development, and strengthen community connections.
