Intergenerational Solidarity Award 2025
The Intergenerational Solidarity Awards 2025 will take place at the DCU Glasnevin Campus on May 7th, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
DCU invites you to showcase your school's commitment to intergenerational practice by submitting a project that highlights collaboration between students and older members of the community. Your project can take various forms, such as:
- Poster presentations
- Reports with images
- Videos featuring IT, dancing, music, art, cooking, or storytelling
- Photographs
Past projects have included paired reading, sewing or cookery sessions, computer skills workshops, mentoring programs, and singing activities.
Award Categories:
- Gold, Silver, and Bronze Awards: Recognizing innovative and engaged projects.
- Special Recognition: An individual or student group will receive an award for developing an age-related product or service as part of their TY Business Project.
In previous years, winners stood out by showcasing strong student and participant engagement, particularly by connecting with older members of their communities. Examples include collaborations with older relatives and friends, local nursing home residents, GAA clubs, U3A groups, and Active Retirement groups.
