We are delighted to share that the DCU Age-Friendly University (AFU) will once again lead Ireland’s participation in Global Intergenerational Week (GIW) 2025. With a strong focus on intergenerational engagement, we are honored to serve as the Country Lead for the third consecutive year in this global celebration.
Global Intergenerational Week is an annual celebration that strengthens intergenerational relationships by fostering meaningful connections, promoting shared learning, and encouraging community collaboration. The campaign highlights the incredible impact of bringing people of all ages together to build vital and lasting relationships. DCU AFU is pleased to support organizations across Ireland in celebrating these important values.
This year's campaign will take place from 24th to 30th April, 2025!
During this week, we celebrate the power of intergenerational relationships across seven daily themes:

Day 2 (25/04): Let’s Challenge Ageism
Day 3 (26/04): Let’s Challenge Social Isolation and Loneliness
Day 4 (27/04): Let’s Celebrate Intergenerational Spaces and Communities

Day 6 (29/04): Let’s Develop Intergenerational Workplaces
