About DCU Volunteer
DCU Volunteer is part of DCU Engagement, reporting into Laura Mahoney, Executive Director of Engagement in the University. Meadhbh Hannon is the DCU Student Volunteering Project Officer and is based in the university’s Glasnevin campus.
In DCU Strategy 2023 - 2028, ‘Enhance Local and International Engagement’ is Pillar 4. In relation to local and community engagement, the strategy highlights how the University has developed a wide range of important and beneficial relationships through our engagement with local communities. This pillar sets out the University’s renewed focus on key relationships at community level, while remaining a welcoming space for our neighbours in North Dublin.
The office for DCU Volunteer is based on the Glasnevin campus, but we run activities across the University’s three academic campuses.
DCU Volunteer enjoys a positive relationship with the Office of Student Life (OSL) and DCU Students’ Union, allowing us to interact and engage with students on a daily basis.
DCU Volunteer also works closely with other stakeholders in the University, ensuring engagement and communications with staff who are interested in volunteering.
