Use the TFI Journey Planner to plan your bus trip to DCU

The DCU Campuses’ public transport services are primarily bus based services, with services from Dublin Bus, Go Ahead, Bus Eireann and private buses.

For the most up to date information on the available routes and times use the TFI Journey Planner and TFI Live App.

Please note that in Q4 2024 (exact date to be confirmed) the NTA will introduce the Bus Connects E Spine - this spine will replace the 155, 13, 11, 9 and 4 bus routes.  There will be an additional 19 route that will serve as a connection between the DCU Glasnevin and DCU St Patricks and DCU All Hallows campuses.  Here is also a Map of Bus Connects.

DCU Bus Stops

To find out what buses service the different bus stop, simply note the stop number and use the TFI Live App to find out departure times of all the buses at that stop.  There is a link to all the TFI apps below.

Fare Costs

The TFI 90 Minute Fare (TFI 90) is a reduced rate fare the can be used for the majority of journeys in the Dublin area. It includes the option to transfer for free between Dublin City Buses, Luas, DART and commuter rail (zones 1-4 in the Short Hop Zone) within 90 mins.

To avail of this fare, the Leap Card is tapped on the first leg of a journey, the commuter can then change transport mode as often as needed and then touch on again at the start of the last leg of the journey.

Once the commuter touches on the last journey within 90 minutes of the first they will only be charged the TFI 90 Fare.

Taxsaver Commuter Ticket Scheme

This scheme is available to DCU staff. It is a salary sacrifice arrangement where DCU purchases annual commuter tickets on behalf of employees and the cost is recuperated through payroll, thus employees don’t pay PRSI, USCI or pension-related deductions.

The savings on your travel expenses can be quite significant. The Scheme applies to the Annual Travel Passes issued by Irish Rail, Dublin Bus, Luas, Bus Eireann and Matthews Coaches.

Find more information on the DCU Travel Benefits page or on Taxsaver.ie.
