  • Observer: €50 per day. Three days €130

Choral Conducting Masterclasses
  • For conductors wishing to develop their technique, musicianship, interpretation
  • Three levels: foundation, intermediate, advanced
  • Conductors will conduct their peers, a pianist, and New Dublin Voices
  • See below for level descriptors
Choral Composition Masterclass
  • For composers who wish to develop their artistic practice 
  • Suitable for those with some experience in choral composition and facility in notation software
  • Composers will workshop their draft piece with a conductor, pianist, and singers

The course directors will assess applications, and applicants will be contacted within three days of receipt of application. If accepted, a deposit of €100 is requested immediately. The balance will be due by July 31 via Eventbrite. 

Cancellation: 4 weeks before event: 100% refund; 3 weeks: 50%; 2 weeks: 25%; 1 week: 0%

Level Descriptors
FOUNDATION
  • For establishing the fundamentals of conducting technique 
  • For those with some qualification or background in music who may have elementary conducting experience
  • Material is primarily canons and simple 2, 3, and 4-part songs
INTERMEDIATE  
  • For conductors with good musicianship skills and experience working with choirs and/or who have had previous tuition in conducting
  • Increased attention to style, interpretation and rehearsal technique 
  • Participants need to familiarise themselves with the set pieces prior to the course
ADVANCED 
  • For conductors with considerable experience, excellent musicianship skills, good vocal technique and rehearsal technique, who have already studied conducting to a high level 
  • Participants are expected to be fully familiar with all set pieces
