NEW for 2021: *BA in Climate and Environmental Sustainability* Taster Lecture | Dr Darren Clarke Topic: ‘Climate change and environmental sustainability post COVID-19’Sudden and wide-ranging behaviour changes were introduced globally following the COVID-19 pandemic. However, amidst this crisis, stories of environmental recovery are emerging globally. Satellite imagery shows that air pollution in formerly densely-polluted regions has reduced, and carbon emissions have also reduced globally. Yet, long-term, the negative social and economic impacts of COVID-19 are unquestionable. Thus, a global pandemic is not to be celebrated for its environmental impacts. In this discussion, we will examine what COVID-19 might mean for environmental sustainability and climate change in a post pandemic world. VIEW RECORDING HERE |
