Description

This is one of DCUs longest-running and most popular courses. The course will take you from an introduction to accounting basics, through to more complex theoretical and practical accounting studies. Other topics explored include issues concerning business, law, IT, taxation, auditing, professional ethics, economics, corporate finance, investments, psychology, marketing, HR, management, and communications. Graduates are granted generous exemptions from the examinations of professional accountancy bodies.

This course is designed so that the first three years provide you with a general introduction to business analysis, the aviation sector, technical aspects of piloting and industry relevant work experience through our famous INTRA (work placement) programme.  In your final year, you can opt to enter flight training to qualify as a commercial pilot or seek training as an air traffic controller or choose to follow more specialist studies in aviation management.

This course offers a unique, competitive and highly rewarding opportunity to participate in two work placements and earn two business degrees in two countries. You spend your first two years at DCU, gaining an understanding of the principles of business by studying subjects such as accounting, finance, economics and marketing. On transferring to the partner institution in Year Three, you will focus on international business and in Year Four, you have the opportunity to specialise in a variety of business areas.
