Advance our Research Reputation and Impact: Year 1 Update

Postgraduate Research student numbers grew by 17% over the baseline during the first year of the strategy. We achieved a 23% growth in article numbers resulting in the highest Field Weighted Citation Impact (FWCI) in Ireland. New support structures were introduced and a comprehensive Research Communications process was launched to better highlight and share the impact and achievements across all research areas. The introduction of Impact Case Studies to convey the importance of groundbreaking research across the University has been a successful initiative in communicating our output and impact. As the Performance Review and Development (PRD) process rolls out, individual academic staff are incorporating the Faculty research targets into their own goals and objectives.
