Research Summary:

My research using both in-vitro and in-vivo methods focuses on the effects exercise and long termed inactivity has on our skeletal muscle bioenergetics. A particular focus of this research delves into the mitochondrial fusion-fission signalling pathways (post-transcriptional and post-translational) and the effects that an imbalance in these cascades can have on skeletal muscle mitochondrial morphology and subsequently overall cellular homeostasis.
