I am an Assistant Professor of Intellectual Disability Nursing in the School of Nursing, Psychotherapy and Community Health. I completed my PhD with Ulster University in 2021, my thesis was titled ‘Exploring person-centredness in residential services with older people with intellectual disabilities, their family members and staff: A mixed methods study. Research interests also include social inclusion, person-centred cultures of care, and active ageing for people with intellectual disabilities and older people.
My practice background in Disability includes community nursing, assessment and treatment, nursing management posts in community and Education for nursing and midwifery. I have also held education and planning and development nursing positions in the Health Services.
