Orla Dunne

Dr. Orla Dunne has worked with the Centre for Talented Youth, Ireland at DCU for almost ten years. Her research interests include LGBTQ inclusion in schools, giftedness and adolescent social and emotional development. Her Ed.D. thesis, supervised by Prof. Joe O'Hara and Dr. Colm O'Reilly focused on the experiences of gifted LGBTQ young people in Ireland. To date, she has written book chapters for major gifted education textbooks, presented at conferences internationally and given seminars to many education organisations, pre service teachers and on inclusion in the workplace in corporate settings.

Orla currently sits on the board of directors for ShoutOut, an organisation in Ireland that promotes inclusion through LGBTQ educational programmes.
