Karen Buckley is an Assistant Professor in the School of Inclusive and Special Education at the Institute of Education at DCU. As a qualified post-primary teacher and experienced lecturer in teacher education, Karen has enjoyed working across a range of educational settings in second-level, further education and higher education. With a particular research interest in inclusive pedagogy, Karen is an advocate for inclusive practice to improve and optimise teaching, learning and assessment in higher education. 

Karen holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and Sociology, a Master of Arts Degree in Sociology and a Post Graduate Diploma in Education. She is currently a Doctoral candidate at Maynooth University, exploring Teacher Education, Identity and Professional Development practices.
