Caren is a lecturer in Innovation and Entrepreneurship with Dublin City University and currently teaching as part of the DCU@PNU program at Princess Noura bint Abdulrahman University in  Riyadh, KSA.

While completing her PhD studies with the National University of Ireland, Galway she was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to spend a year at the LINKS, Centre for social network analysis at the University of Kentucky, USA after which she lectured for two years at Xi’an Jioatong-Liverpool University, China.

She is particularly interested in research examining the impact of offline and online social networks on innovation and new business development. Her PhD focused on the impact of networking for small firms engaged in low-tech innovation. Following this she began a cross-disciplinary post-doc with the Department of Computer Science, KU Leuven with a particular focus on innovation in high-tech sectors and business models for online applications. Her research has been published in international peer reviewed journals and conferences, for which she has received two best paper awards.

Caren is currently preparing to embark on an original research project examining the impact of digital technologies for female entrepreneurship in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
