Scríobh sí tráchtas PhD faoin deachleachtas sa bpleanáil téarmaíochta, A Best-Practice Model for Term Planning (2011: http://doras.dcu.ie/16548/), a bhuaigh an International Award for Outstanding Achievement in Theoretical/ Fundamental Research in the Field of Terminology, 2012. Comhúdar ar Téarmaíocht don Aontas Eorpach. Taithí na hÉireann: Tionscadal GA IATE (Cló Iar-Chonnacht, 2013). 

D'fheighmigh sí mar chomheagarthóir ar TEANGA, Iris Chumann na Teangeolaíochta Feidhmí (2017-20) agus tá sí ina leas-uachtarán ar Chumann Eorpach na Téarmeolaíochta (EAFT) agus ina comheagarthóir ar Terminology Science & Research. Ball den Centre for Translation and Textual Studies, de ADAPT, agus den Choiste Logainmneacha.

Tá fáilte aici roimh mhic léinn ar spéis leo taighde PhD nó eile a phlé. Tá mic léinn ag obair faoina stiúr faoi láthair ar chúrsaí béaloidis agus ar ról na mban i stair agus i mbeathaisnéisí na Gaeilge.

Editorial Manager of www.corpas.ie, www.tearma.ie, www.logainm.ie, www.ainm.ie, www.duchas.ie, www.gaois.ie and several other terminology and related projects. Principal Investigator (PI) of the Dúchas.ie National Folklore Digitization Project and of the National Corpus of Irish project. 

She has a BA in Italian and Philosophy from NUI, Galway, and an MA in European Studies from UCD. Her PhD (A Best-Practice Model for Term Planning, 2011) is on terminology planning and won the International Award for Outstanding Achievement in Theoretical/ Fundamental Research in the Field of Terminology, 2012.

Co-Editor, TEANGA, the Journal of the Irish Association for Applied Linguistics (2017-20), co-editor, Terminology Science & Research, and vice-president of the European Association for Terminology (EAFT). Member of the Centre for Translation and Textual Studies, of ADAPT, and of the Placenames Committee.

She welcomes students wishing to discuss PhD or other research. She currently supervises students investigating folklore and the role of women in Irish history and biography.
