Dr. Jiafu Wang was awarded his PhD by Wuhan University in 1999 and recruited immediately as a lecturer by the Institute of Life Sciences at the same University. Within one year, he successfully obtained two basic research grants from prestigious Government Funding Bodies, the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Ministry of Education of China, respectively. To enhance research career opportunities, in 2000 Jiafu joined the neuroscience research group in Imperial College London as a post-doctoral researcher. Three years later, he joined the International Centre for Neurotherapeutics newly established in Dublin City University. In 2010 Jiafu was appointed as an Assistant Professor in Neurotherapeutics in Faculty of Science and Health (permanent position). Dr. Wang is a Molecular Biologist/Protein Engineer, co-inventor of a number of international patents, awardee of several SFI grants, and major contributor of awards from Higher Education Authority (HEA), Enterprise Ireland, International Pharmaceutical Companies.
