DCU researchers in the media
DCU researchers have been popping up in the news for the last fortnight discussing their research projects and on-going work. Dr Maura Conway, of the School of Law and Government, has been featured in the Irish Independent and the Journal for her work on violent political extremism online. Dr Conway has recently secured €5 million to investigate the rise of online extremism. Dr Kieran Moran, of the School of Health and Human Performance, has been showcasing technology that allows us to measure and improve sports performance by looking at tennis players serve in the Irish Independent. His with the GAA, looking at Sliotars, which was featured in the Sunday Times. Meanwhile Prof Liam Barry, of the School of Electronic Engineering, was commenting in the Irish Times on the latest advances in Fibre-optic technology. The Irish Times have also been featuring the work of Dr Jane Suiter, of the School of Communications and a regular contributor to the Irish Times, on the change in how Irish people consume news.
