Meet the Research Support and Hubs team
The team in Research Support and the Research and Enterprise Hubs will be available in the foyer of the R&E Building on Friday 12th June between 10 am -12 pm to answer any questions - big or small - that you may have about H2020 while you enjoy a coffee and a snack. You will also have the opportunity to talk to DCU academics who have coordinated an EU project before and will be happy to share their experience with you.

Research Support
Ana Terres: Director of Research Support. Responsible for managing the Research Support team, overseeing internal and external research contracts and institutional applications for funding and supporting the Vice-President for Research and Innovation on the implementation of the Research and Innovation Strategy including the development and management of major strategic research initiatives. Member of the University Research Committee and the Graduate Studies Board.
Fiona Brennan: Primary Point of Contact for the Schools of Biotechnology, Health and Human Performance and Nursing and Human Sciences. Call Manager for the Health Research Board, Wellcome Trust and associated health funders, Fulbright Commission, EU COST Actions and EU calls in Health, Biotechnology and related areas. Helen Burke:Primary Point of Contact for the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. Call manager for the Irish Research Council, applications to the EACEA, Marie Sklowdowska Curie Individual Fellowships and EU calls related to Humanities and Social Sciences. Call Manager for the Irish Research Council (IRC), as well as all applications to the EACEA and EU calls related to Humanities and Social Sciences. Annelouise Holloway: Primary Point of Contact for: Schools of Chemical, Physical and Mathematical Sciences. Responsible for supporting the professional development of researchers. Call manager for fellowships and individual type awards including SFI Investigator Programme, SFI SIRG , Walton, PIYRA and professorships, and for European calls such as the Marie Curie actions and the European Research Council (ERC) awards. Kieran O'Dwyer: Primary Point of Contact for DCU Business School. Responsible for the support of International Partnerships development with strategic partners. Provision of legal support for collaboration with other academic partners or private enterprises. Call manager for NIH. Contact point for opportunities under International Cooperation (Horizon 2020).
Dr. Domingo Sanchez-Zarza: Primary Point of Contact for the Faculty of Engineering and Computing. Responsible for supporting industry-academia partnerships and collaborations, and consultancy interactions. Call manager for all industry and commercialisation-related awards, including Enterprise Ireland awards and SFI Research Centres, SFI Industrial doctorates and TIDA awards. Contact point for opportunities under Competitive Industries (Horizon 2020).
Research and Enterprise Hubs
Centered around the researcher, the Hubs provid practical supports to help DCU researchers be more successful in attracting funding to support excellent research:
•identify relevant national and international funding opportunities
•develop interactions with industry and other enterprises
•assisting with proposal preparation
•coordinating the generation and submission of proposals
•supporting the coordination of large consortia in the generation of collaborative proposals
•integrating the inputs of different contributors (collaborators, hubs and admin teams) into proposals
•drafting non-technical parts of research proposals (for example, the impact and the management sections)
•coordinating the final submission of proposals to the relevant funding body
•Liaising with Research and Innovation Support in the preparation of budgets and intellectual property management statements for applications
