Horizon Europe Award

Congratulations to Dr Louise Hopper (Centre for Possibility Studies / School of Psychology) who has been successful in the latest Horizon Europe Health call.  She and 21 partners across Europe, led by VICOM, Spain, will be working on the large scale project "Cardiovascular Risk Assessment via multimodal data analysis enabling personalized prevention strategies targeting MEnopausaL women" (CARAMEL), which will run for the following 48 months.


ERASMUS+ European Policy Experimentation Awards

The two latest Erasmus+ awards are under Key Action 3: Policy Experimentation. These represent a huge achievement - congratulations to both the PIs:

 

BRIDGES - Teaching for Sustainability Citizenship:  Dr Margaret Farren (Associate Professor in the School of STEM Education, Innovation and Global Studies and Co-Director of the International Centre for Innovation and Workplace Learning)

BRIDGES builds on the ongoing Erasmus+ Teacher Academy SYNAPSES and aims to demonstrate how education systems can create new levels of awareness and work towards a sustainable future, by developing innovative pathways for building sustainability competences. BRIDGES will propose standards that introduce key features of Sustainable Citizenship in the national curricula. 

 

TECHWELL - A Holistic Strategy for Digital Wellness in Schools:  Dr Peter Tiernan (Lecturer in the School of STEM Education, Innovation and Global Studies, Chair of the B.Sc. in Education and Training and a member of the Further Education and Research Centre)

The key objectives of TECHWELL are to:

  • Raise Awareness: Increase understanding of digital well-being among school communities.

  • Build Multi-Stakeholder Community: Collaborate across sectors to comprehensively address digital wellness.

  • Develop the Digital Wellbeing Suite: Create resources, strategies, and educational materials to promote digital health.

  • Pilot Implementation: Test the DWS in schools across six countries to gather insights and refine the approach.
