Research Newsletter - Issue 98: Pivot-RP Spotlight

We are pleased to announce the launch of an enhanced funding opportunities database for faculty members and researchers called Pivot-RP. 

Pivot-RP is a replacement offering from the providers of Research Professional. However, unlike Research Professional, Pivot-RP utilizes key information in user profiles to help find funding opportunities and collaborations.  It also provides improved searching capabilities, making the search for funding easier and more relevant.

To assist with Pivot-RP set-up, all staff profiles have been pre-populated based on the research interests and outputs displayed on public DCU Research Engine profiles.

New and Upgraded Features

• An improved, user-friendly interface which will make it easier to source relevant funding opportunities from Pivot-RP's global network of funders

• Access to a Pivot-RP profile that serves the dual purposes of:

  • Tailored funding opportunities based on your areas of expertise

  • Access to internal and external potential collaborators

• A database of previously awarded grants for key funders

• Access to global research policy news articles

Training

An online demo and training session was held on Wednesday, 21st November that introduced the exciting new features of the database.  If you were unable to attend, you can view the recording on the Pivot-RP webpage from Monday, 25th November.  The next training session will take place in February 2025. 

On the Pivot-RP webpage you will also find additional resources to help you navigate the database. For example, the following videos may prove useful when accessing it for the first time:
