- research and innovation on Ireland’s all-island, EU and global connectivity
Three work programmes will guide implementation of the strategy. The strategy document contains the first work programme, which will last three years.

DCU REC Closure Period
Please note that DCU REC will be closed from the 8th of July - 5th of August 2022. The current REC Calendar of meetings and submission deadlines can be found here.
DCU REC Amendment Form
DCU Research Ethics Committee (REC) would like to notify researchers of the forthcoming changes to the REC approval amendment process. As you know, an amendment form is required to cover any changes to an approved study, once the research question remains the same as in the original application. However, if the research question changes, a new REC application form rather than an amendment is required.
Therefore, please note that the REC amendment form (available here) and amendment submission process have been slightly revised. The main changes are as follows:
- Applicants are required to complete the REC amendment form and highlight all proposed changes / additions to the study in the original REC application form in RED text.
- Applicants are required to upload both documents (REC amendment form and amended original REC application form) via the DCU Research Ethics Application Portal on Loop.
- Amendments will be reviewed within 5 working days, as long as they are submitted more than 5 working days prior to the next available REC meeting date (see REC calendar here). Amendments submitted less than 5 working days before the next REC meeting will be reviewed following the REC meeting.
DCU REC will accept amendments using the old form (dated September 2014 in the footer of the document) in the case of applicants currently preparing amendments. Use of the new version of the REC amendment form will be mandatory from the 1st of August 2022.
If you have any questions regarding the above, please contact rec@dcu.ie.
The European Commission has launched a survey on the Funding & Tenders Portal, to collect feedback and ideas on further improvements and new functionalities. This is a good opportunity to provide feedback on the submission portal.
Irish Research Council (IRC) is currently conducting a survey on the Enterprise Programme Calls.
The IRC Enterprise Programmes are comprised of:
- Enterprise Partnership Scheme (Postgraduate)
- Enterprise Partnership Scheme (Postdoctoral)
- Employment-Based Postgraduate Programme
The survey is open until the 17th June. Please find the survey link here. This is a good opportunity to communicate your views on this year’s calls to IRC and suggest any improvements which could be made for next year’s calls.
If you intend to coordinate a Horizon Europe proposal, please contact the RPA unit to apply for an EI Coordinator Support Award so that you can avail of RPA administrative support.
