Léargas are Ireland's National Agency for Erasmus+ in Adult Education, School Education, Vocational Education and Training, Youth and Sport. Léargas will hold a range of training events in the lead up to the Erasmus call deadlines over the coming months.

This session will provide an overview of the funding opportunities in the Erasmus+ Call 2025, and guidance on submitting a proposal. This will include information about TORA, Research Finance, and project management from the colleagues expert in these areas. We will also hear from a PI about their experience of participating in an Erasmus+ projects.
The session is aimed primarily at those planning to apply for project funding under the Erasmus+ 2025 call, whether as coordinator or partner. It will also be useful as a general introduction to the funding opportunities under the Erasmus+ programme and the processes related to applying for external research funding.

This session will provide an in-depth analysis of the HEA North South application document and its key requirements. We will advise on how to approach each section.

DCU Invent is delighted to host our first 'Lunch & Learn' Seminar for 2025.
This session will cover the basics of grant writing and help you to prepare competitive funding applications. It will cover key aspects such as understanding the call criteria, pitching your idea to the funder’s priorities, selling the innovation of your project, and showcasing the impact of your research.
We understand how busy you are with teaching and research commitments, so we have scheduled this seminar during lunchtime. Please try to come on time, as lunch will be provided and the sessions are only one hour long.

The Health Research Board has engaged an external facilitator to assist researchers across Ireland to cooperate on a single national grant application ahead of a grant call launch on 3rd March 2025. The Collaborative Research Network in Mental Health will be a €1m fund over a 60 month duration. Themes and expertise can come from across the wide scope of the mental health research community. The in-person event aims to surface these potential themes, build relationships and identify the core team and collaborative institutions to lead a national coordinated grant application.

The National Contact Point in the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications (DECC) will be hosting an Information Day on the Innovation Fund. The agenda and registration link are available here.
Orientation Dialogues with CINEA
These sessions provide an excellent opportunity to engage in high level discussions with our EU colleagues on potential projects. These will be taking place in the afternoon following the Information Day which takes place on Wednesday, 12th February.
To participate, send a project overview to innovationfund@decc.gov.ie with “Orientation Dialogues” in the subject line by 5pm on Monday, 27th January, to include if known:
- The call you intend on applying for i.e. small, medium, large, pilot, clean tech manufacturing, maritime etc.
- The main theme of the project i.e. CCS, renewable energy, energy storage technologies etc.
Please also highlight any challenges you face and areas where guidance is sought.
Successful projects will be notified by Friday 31st January 2025 and should make themselves available for the afternoon of 12th February 2025.
One-to-One consultation sessions
There will also be an opportunity to participate in one-to-one consultation sessions with EU funding experts to receive personalised guidance on your project proposal. To be considered for these sessions please submit your concept note to innovationfund@decc.gov.ie with “One-to-One Consultations” in the subject line by 5pm on Monday, 27th January, outlining the following details:
1. Project Overview: Briefly describe your project, highlighting key objectives, innovations, and expected outcomes.
- Include the call you intend on applying for i.e. small, medium, large, pilot, clean tech manufacturing, maritime etc.
- TRL & the main theme of the project i.e. CCS, renewable energy, energy storage technologies etc.
- Please demonstrate how your project meets the award criteria of the Innovation fund
- Degree of Innovation
- GHG emission avoidance
- Project maturity
- Replicability
- Cost Efficiency
2. Current Stage: Specify the current stage of your project. This could include research, development, testing, or any other relevant phase.
3. Team and Partners: Provide information about your project team and any existing or potential collaboration partners.
4. Challenges: Identify any challenges or specific areas where you seek guidance or support.
