The DCU Intergenerational Learning Programme (ILP) engages older and younger students in innovative participatory methodologies which are inclusive of teaching, learning and research opportunities together. In collaboration with Dr Emma Murphy, a one day symposium will take place in DCU in 2016 which aims to highlight how higher education can be inclusive of the learning needs of older people, especially those who have retired and who want to continue to stay mentally engaged and active either as mentors or students within higher education. This symposium is inclusive of NGO’s, higher education institutes and all participants who are interested in the reciprocal benefits of teaching and learning across generations.
