The Life Science Research Facility is equipped with 10 open access cell culture suits which tailored for clinical and viral cell work, in addition to standard mammalian cell culture. The cell culture suites contain 23 class II biosafety cabinets that meet the performance requirements of the EN 12469:2000 European standard and the DIN 12980:2016 standard, with a large number of these capable of cytotoxic drug work. Each suite is fully equipped for cell culture workflows and comprises of cold storage for reagents, CO2 incubators, centrifuges, light microscopes, vortex mixers and water baths. The facility houses two ThermoFisher Scientific Countess Cell Counters, one equipped with fluorescence capabilities, for accurate and precise cell counting. In addition to fast and accurate cell counting the Countess FL may be used for viability assays, checking transfection efficiency and more.
