DCU has over 25,000 graduates working in more
than 30 countries in leadership positions in
industry and academia, both in the private and
public sector. Below are just a sample of the
successful, flexible career paths that graduates
of our Fiontar (now Gnó agus Gaeilge ) degree
have pursued. |
Cormac Ó'hEadhra,
BSc in Finance, Computing and Enterprise (Fiontar), is a reporter with television and radio (as Gaeilge) in the RTÉ newsroom with Nuacht RTÉ. He
reads the nuacht on radio 1, 2fm and also presents 'Léirmheas
ar na Nuachtáin' (What it Says in the Papers) on
Raidió na Gaeltachta. Prior to this, he worked with
INVESCO - Investment Fund Administrators in Dublin
and also part-time with Irish Language daily
newspaper, Lá. Cormac co-founded Imperium Teoranta
while studying at DCU. Imperium is a content/service
provider for the text-messaging market.

Fiontar graduate,
Sean Óg Ó hAilpín
captained Cork senior
hurling team to its 30th All
Ireland title in 2005.
During his time in the
University he played a major
role in the growth and
development of the GAA in
general and hurling in
particular. He was a key
player on the Fitzgibbon
team and also played
Sigerson Cup football. Sean
Óg has achieved success with
his county at every level of
the game. This is his third
senior All Ireland medal. He
has also own Al-Ireland
titles at minor and u-21
with Cork. Last year he was
selected as “Hurler of the
Year 2004”. Employed by AIB
bank, he is also an
accomplished Gaelic
footballer, and played with
the Irish compromise rules
team against Australia last
October. |
