What's happening during Open Days?
Our Open Days are student focused and flexible. All aspects of DCU will be covered as well as information about higher education and university life in general. There will be a variety of opportunities for you and your students to attend course talks, displays and demonstrations, and our lecturers and current students are looking forward to meeting you.
Subject Presentations
DCU offers modern degree courses in Business, Engineering, Humanities, Science, Health and Computing. We offer up to date approaches to learning, and as well as attending lectures, students also undertake laboratory work, practical assessments, group projects and web-based learning. The subject presentations will cover:
- Course content
- Choices within degrees courses
- Differences between similar degree courses
- Work placements and career prospects
Tours of Campus
It is vital that students get a feel for the DCU campus because they will be spending three or four years at university. During Open Days, there will be guided tours of the campus. This will give visitors the opportunity to see the University and experience it during a typical day. The campus tours will take place at regular intervals throughout the day. Highlights of the tour include:
- The Helix
- Student Accommodation
- University Sports Club
- The John & Aileen O'Reilly Library
- The Hub Student Centre
- The Collaborative Learning Cafe
