In order to give you the best possible chance to experience DCU, we are holding our Open Day over two days this year on Friday 17th November and Saturday 18th November.

What's happening during Open Days?

Whether you are interested in applying to DCU or simply want to find out more about DCU, our Open Days are packed full of activities to help you get the most from your visit.

Our Open Days provide an opportunity for you to find out about the great range of courses on offer, give you the chance to see the campus for yourself, to meet with lecturers and current students, and to check out our student life. We welcome all 6th years, 5th years, transition years, mature students, guidance counsellors, teachers and parents to visit the campus during Open Days.

The format includes subject presentations, exhibition area, guided tours of campus, displays and demonstrations.

 

 

Subject Presentations

DCU offers modern degree courses in Business, Engineering, Communications, Languages, Science, Health, Law & Government, Education and Computing. All degree courses will be covered in the relevant subject presentations which will be 45 minutes in duration. Click here for a full list of courses.

 

Tours of campus

Tours of campus give you the opportunity to see the university and experience it during a typical student day. The tours will take place at regular intervals throughout the day, and highlights include:

  • The Helix
  • Student Accommodation
  • University Sports Club
  • The John & Aileen O'Reilly Library
  • The Hub Student Centre

Exhibition

The Exhibition Area provides Information Points for you to ask questions or find out more about DCU. Representatives from student services, academic departments, clubs & societies and students' union will be available to answer your queries about courses, accommodation, scholarships, sports facilities, admissions, student services, employment prospects and other aspects of university life. So whether you have any queries about entry requirements or sports scholarships, be sure to visit the Exhibition Area.

Students from various clubs & societies will also be present in the Exhibition Area doing demonstrations and giving you the chance to sample student life. There's over 100 clubs & societies to choose from, and joining any of the clubs or societies is probably the easiest way to make friends at university.

General Talks on University Life

Going to university means more than just attending courses. Throughout the day, a series of general talks will take place offering information specific to DCU as well as advice about higher education and university life in general. The general talks include:

  • How to choose your university
  • Work Placements / Year Abroad
  • Top Tips for Learning
  • Making the most of your time at university

Sport at DCU

Representatives from Admissions, Sports & Recreation and the Sports Academy will be available to talk to you at the Exhibition Area about our Sports Scholarships and Elite Sport Entry Scheme .
