Information about the ERASMUS programme
ERASMUS, which is part of the larger Socrates programme, stands for "European Community Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students". The aim of ERASMUS is to promote the mobility and exchange of teaching staff, students and administration staff throughout the participating countries.
ERASMUS gives students the opportunity to study for a period of 3-12 months at a university or higher education institution in another participating country. This period of study is fully recognised in the home institution. Contact with another country enables students to become more adaptable and improves communication and language skills. It is also a considerable plus point on the employment market.
