PPI Ignite Network at DCU Research Assistant Opportunity
Applications are invited from enthusiastic and suitably qualified candidates for a full-time, 11-month fixed term position as a Research Assistant with the PPI Ignite Network at Dublin City University. The post offers an excellent opportunity to join a large national project to build capacity for meaningful and high-quality public and patient involvement (PPI) in health and social care research. PPI in research means research carried out ‘with’ or ‘by’ members of the public rather than ‘to’, ‘about’ or ‘for’ them.
The Research Assistant will play a critical role in developing and supporting PPI activities across DCU, working closely with the DCU PPI Ignite Programme Manager. The Research Assistant will also work closely with the PPI Ignite Network nationally (https://ppinetwork.ie/), including the National Programme Office, the Programme Managers at the six other Universities across Ireland, and with national and local partners. Collectively, the national PPI Ignite Network promotes excellence and inspires innovation in PPI in health and social care research in Ireland. The Network aims to provide a shared voice for PPI across Ireland, aiming to change the research culture, an important contributor to improving health outcomes for the public.
The Research Assistant will report directly to the Principal Investigator, and co-lead within the School of Nursing, Psychotherapy and Community Health, DCU.
The PPI Ignite Network at DCU is funded by the Health Research Board, the Irish Research Council, and with co-funding from Dublin City University.
Closing date: April 21st, 2024
