Academic biography
Marie Conroy Johnson is an Assistant Professor of Education and former Director of School Placement for the Bachelor of Religious Education and English / History / Music programme at the School of Policy and Practice, DCU Institute of Education.
Marie is a former post-primary teacher and principal and has developed and worked on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the areas of initial teacher education, school placement, school leadership and management, education and the law, and research skills. She was a member of the Placement and Related Partnership Faculty Committee and also the Advisory Board for Placements and Related Partnerships in DCU IoE and has been instrumental in new policy developments in teacher education at the university.
Along with colleagues, Marie was a finalist for the following awards:
- DCU President's Award for Excellence in Teaching (2019) Team award with Dr Bernadette Ní Áingléis
- DCU President's Award for Engagement (2020) Team award with Dr Bernadette Ní Áingléis, Dr Martin Brown
