Loreto Alumna Award: Dr. Elaine McDonald

Congratulations to Dr. Elaine McDonald who received the Loreto Order Alumna Award in recognition of Dr. McDonald's outstanding Scholarship and Leadership over the years. Dr. McDonald, worked as a second level teacher for a number of years during which time she completed her doctoral research on the history of women's education in Ireland. 

Her research was awarded an IRCHSS (Government of Ireland Scholarship) and since then has published widely in the field of Women in Leadership among other areas such as student-centred approaches to teaching and learning; gender and education; intercultural education; education disadvantage and curriculum policy and assessment.

The award was presented to Dr. McDonald at an awards Ceremony at Loreto Secondary School, Kilkenny.
