Stephen Kirwan Staff Profile

Stephen has been working in the field of Human Resources since he completed his Master’s degree in Human Resource Management in 2014. Over the past eight years, he has built a solid foundation in HR shared services within the telecommunications and retail sectors. He started his career as a Resourcing Advisor and progressed through various roles, including Team Lead and Service Delivery Manager. His experience encompasses recruitment, HR operations, and change management, along with several project roles, such as the implementation of HRIS systems. In April 2023, Stephen joined DCU as a People Partner, where he has made significant contributions by engaging with various departments and faculties. He provides support in recruitment processes, strategic planning, and the development of policies and procedures. Stephen firmly believes that a vibrant workplace community is rooted in strong relationships, transparent communication, and the cultivation of high-performing teams. Outside of his professional commitments, Stephen is passionate about sports, particularly Gaelic football and hurling. He plays and coaches at his local club in Donnycarney, which allows him to give back to the community. Through coaching, he is dedicated to developing players while sharing his enthusiasm for sport. Stephen finds that his involvement in sports not only enriches his life but also reinforces the values of teamwork and resilience that he applies in his professional role.
