Bunrang 1 - Complete Beginners

This live online Irish language course continues on from last semester. It will develop and enhance your language skills in an interactive and relaxed atmosphere.
Target Audience:
Bunrang 1 is aimed at those who have no knowledge of the Irish language or who know only a few words and phrases. The class is not suitable for anyone who has recently attended a beginners course or who has studied Irish at secondary school.

Course Provider: Gaelchultúr in conjunction with DCU Oifig na Gaeilge and the Office of the Chief Operations Officer.
Outline:
A relaxed interactive approach to Irish, in these convenient online sessions. You will have an opportunity to revise the Irish you acquired previously and develop competence in new areas. The emphasis is on developing speaking and listening skills and grammar is taught in context for the most part.
On completion of this course you will have learnt:
- how to engage in basic everyday interactions,
- talk about themselves and their background, the work they do, etc.
- and will have acquired a basic knowledge of grammar.
Fee: €30 admin fee and to ensure your place is payable by your research centre, school or unit. The full cost of the course is covered by the Office of the Chief Operations Officer.

It is suitable for any new learner, including those who attended the 2019/2020/2021/2022 Beginners Irish courses. Meánrang - Improvers Irish

Target Audience:
This course is suitable for anyone who has a distant memory of Leaving Certificate Irish or summers in the Gaeltacht and wants to refresh it. Or who attended the 2019/2020/2021 Meánrang 1 or 2 Irish.

Gramadach gan Stró (Accuracy in Irish) Access To Course For One Year | MAY 2024

This course is suitable for fluent speakers of Irish who wish to improve their grammar and to learn useful idiomatic and colloquial expressions.
Target Audience:
Gramadach gan Stró! is aimed at those who already have a reasonably good standard of spoken Irish but who wish to improve their grammar and to learn useful idiomatic and colloquial expressions. It is suitable for those who don’t usually understand grammar courses, and who find complicated rules confusing. There is a strong emphasis on everyday usage of Irish, and information is given on the differences between the written and spoken language.
This course does not aim to give a comprehensive account of Irish grammar; rather it concentrates on the core aspects of the grammar of the language, and these are explained in a clear, concise way. Complicated terminology is avoided and plenty of examples are given to demonstrate various patterns.
