Ms Lucy Grogan, 3rd Year Student, Chemistry with AI, DCU

Lucy completed a summer internship at DCU under the supervision of Aoife Morrin, working on the HCI P3 Virtual Labs Project. As part of this project, she explored the use of virtual reality as a tool to enhance the understanding of chemistry concepts, such as chirality. By developing immersive 3D learning experiences, she aimed to improve students' comprehension of visual aspects of chemistry, which are often represented as 2D drawings. This approach allows for a more intuitive and thorough understanding of complex concepts through interactive, spatial learning.
